Does this look alright for my first build?

Solution
1) I recommend a 3000 or 3200MHz 2x8GB DDR4 kit.
- Ryzen benefits up to roughly 3200MHz Dual Channel (google that if you want)

2) If you can increase the budget, you may want to get a 2560x1440, IPS monitor:

(I bought that one for my sister. The Acer smidpx is $50 cheaper but Dell Warranty is way better)

The higher resolution makes a big difference for desktop, internet, and any game with smaller HUD/text (especially CIV5 and similar) though all games do benefit.

You can still choose the game resolution to use (i.e. 1920x1080) depending on whether that's best for the game. For example, SKYRIM SE plus some mods on a GTX1060 is probably best at 1920x1080.

Other:
a) CPU installation isn't too hard. Main points:
- be careful when placing CPU and tightening down the support that the CPU is in correctly
- use the "pea" method... just put about 5mm diameter ball of thermal paste in the middle of the CPU

b) update the motherboard BIOS

c) use MEMTEST86 prior to installing Windows www.memtest86.com

d) worry about CPU overclock and Memory optimization later (Ryzen memory is sometimes hard to get full speed)

e) during Windows 10 install:
- have your e-mail + password ready to use for Windows login (i.e. MSN account) as it asks likely (depending on how old the DVD is)
- PARTITION so you have 200GB for one partition and the remainder for another (at the start of W10 install... if stuck Google for how)

Assign the 200GB (roughly 200,000MB) partition for Windows.

That allows you to CLONE to a 250GB SSD easily later. Install Steam like normal, but create a folder on the other partition (i.e. E:\Steam) and use that. It's all on the same HDD but again it's easier this way to add an SSD.

You may want RGB memory since you have a window:

I don't think the graphics card, motherboard, or anything else so far has LED's you can control (if that interests you). For example, you could make them red, or white.

The red light for example would bounce off the WHITE parts inside especially and change their color slightly.

DVD burner:
That case can't mount one so you'd need to create a W10 Install media on a 8GB+ USB stick, then just use the KEY off of the W10 DVD you ordered.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10

on working PC:
1) insert USB stick
2) download and run the tool
3) choose "for other PC" so you create it on the USB stick

*make sure it matches the version you intend to install (I forget what it asks... but you are using W10 Home 64-bit. Choose the most logical one.)

So to be clear on install:

1. setup the hardware
2. update the motherboard BIOS (if possible)
3. run MEMTEST86 for a full pass

4. start W10 install (partition, login e-mail, enter KEY..)
5. let MS Updates finish (start, settings, update & security)
6. install NVidia drivers (latest from NVidia site)

7. see motherboard support site for OTHER software (i.e. audio drivers... if in doubt do NOT install software)
8. setup motherboard FAN software and optimize CPU profile
9. CPU + DDR4 optimization (do that LATER once system has been working fine for at least a week. may need help)

10. STEAM - create additional folder on "E-drive" as suggested above
11. antivirus, K-Lite Standard (video player), Faststone Viewer (I use the last two)
12. e-mail

etc.

The motherboard manual will explain. There will probably be at least two ways (i.e. boot to USB or from Windows).

If MEMTEST86 passes then I would just avoid it for now then update later if you want. Some of the fixes include better DDR4 support (many people STILL have issues getting the full frequency such as 2133MHz only with a 3000MHz kit).
