Not really a big problem since i haven't noticed it until now, but i average around 80-150 fps in csgo. Recently started watching videos of people playing with a similar rig or a bit less and they reach 200-300 fps easily. I've updated my drivers and even when turning settings to low i still dont reach 200. Here's my specs.

i5-7500 @ 3.4ghz
MSI Geforce GTX 1060 6GB Gaming X
16GB ram
1920x1080 res

i recently just bought a 144hz gaming monitor so i want hit above 144 all the time.

Any help or tips would be awesome!

Solution
looks quite normal

did you freshly install windows?
In cs:go any config files edited?

uninstall geforce experience

deactivate v-sync ingame option

check the kingston SSD and if available update its firmware

update BIOS of the motherboard

Estimable
You are right to expect FPS hitting 200 based on those specs especially turned down to low at 1440p. Do you have any background processes running that could be taking up CPU resources? You can also try MSI afterburner to see if the card is getting up to speed that it should. Another idea is try seeing if you can get up to 200FPS on a 1080p display if you still have it.

Here are the results, also i had task manager up and running and i noticed for the graphics card test it was running 0%, and i got around 27 fps. But i did a little research and apparently the graphics score is right up there with everyone else's without overclocking.
