overclock voltage, and blue screen question

I'm using a asus maximus 8 hero board, and a i5 7600k cpu, also 32gb of ddr4 corsair vengeance rgb 3000mhz ram, and a rosewill hive 750 watt modular power supply. I was first overclocked to 4.7ghz 1.18 volts then when I bumped up the overclock to 4.8ghz and did not raise the voltage, I was installing the witcher 3 and first got a few black screens that went away in a matter of seconds then got the blue screen and the pc restarted, I looked at the event viewer and it said. event id 41 kernel power. so I raised the cpu voltage to 1.216 volts and ran a stress test, now no problems. I just wanted to know if anyone had a similar situation or if anyone has any input.

Solution
If it is stable, then I would not raise the volts. Only raise the volts if it crashes and its not running too hot. If you move up to 4.9, you will probably have to raise the volts.

Gotcha. Did you try running 4.8ghz @ 1.2 volts? Ideally, you want the highest clock with the lowest volts possible.

the voltage is actually at 1.216 volts

so should I leave it at 1.216 volts or raise it?

also now my temps are 32c to 33 c idle and 50c to 58c under a load. I'm cooling the cpu with a corsair h60 are my temps good in your opinion?

Average temps at 80C are perfectly fine. I have a Skylake Xeon running on a home server that is on 24/7 and when it is under load it runs around 78-80C. The CPU is at stock settings and cant be overclocked. So it is designed to run at that temperature. Above 90C your system will start to thermal throttle and 95+ is will shut itself down to prevent damage. But as long as you keep it under 80C, you will be fine.
