Hi,

I'm not a computer guy, so I hope you'll bear with me as I try to describe this problem and implement your suggestions. I have tried to both google this and RtFF to no avail. Posting on this board is my last step before seeking out a local technician.

My problem:

My audio device disappeared one day, and despite reinstalling the Realtek HD Audio drivers a million times, enabling and disabling the device, and ultimately reinstalling Windows, I haven't been able to restore it.

Any and all well-meaning and sincere suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately I can't access any such setting from my BIOS. The options are very limited.

I updated the BIOS, which did nothing. The chipset drivers won't install, and Intel's diagnostic says they're up to date.

I tried deleting everything on my entire system that said, "Realtek" and then installing the audio driver. Nothing.
