Hey guys I would like to get your opinions and answers about my concern.

I'll be building me and my lil' bro's desktop for a budget of more than $1000k. i have already the parts ready like a ryzen 5 1600 cpu as I do also some video editing, graphic arts and mostly gaming.

Now the thing that I would like to ask is, is it bettter to have a 250gb ssd + hdd setup by allocating some of the 60gb partition of the ssd for SRT for hdd or should I go with a 500gb ssd now and just get the hdd later because here are the games me and my bro play below:

me:
*L4D2 w/ mods
*Plague Inc.

bro:
*Dota2
*FNAF series
*Gmod w/ mods

now I have other games but I'm unable to install it as my laptop can only hold 500gb and I'm using this also to store my softwares which are in total 60gb including the windows.

The game I'll be adding for installation are:
*GTA IV & V
*Payday 2
*SR 3 & 4

and might buy other games in the future like:
*Tomb Raider
*CS:GO
*Max Payne
*NFS Games

Currently as it is I might often play l4d2 and gta v but I want the option to play older titles and setup other games I usually play every now and then to be avail. for me anytime .

My concern is that current the 250gb ssd is like my best option to save some bucks and put some of my steam library to my HDD with SRT enabled but its just that currently the 500gb is on sale and my discount voucher is only til' the 15th of this month.

so it comes down to this that in my country, prices are like these and they're both Samsung evo 850s:

250gb ssd = $80 (equivalent w/ promo)
500gb ssd = $142 (equivalent w/ promo)

if you're wondering how big is the HDD, its gonna be a 4TB seagate barracuda but half of it will be my stored files since 2011 and will be mainly be used for movies and TV series as currently this desktop will be connected to my TV in the living room.

Also bonus question, will it be better to go for a gtx 1060 6gb or 1070 8gb because my TV right now currently supports 1080p. I would love to run the games in max set. in 1080p and able to record at the same time with minimal drops in fps. Dxtory is the software tool.

I hope a I have put everything the factors so You could give me the best solution for my needs.
Any comments and replies will be much appreciated, ty :)

Solution

Better it would be:
1 smaller SSD for OS (120GB or 240GB);
1 larger SSD for games (500GB or 1TB);
1 giant HDD for general storage (2TB-10TB).

But since you're on budget, then get smaller SSD for OS and HDD for storage/games.

GTX 1070 is significantly better than GTX 1060.

With SSDs bigger is faster. The reason for this is the bigger SSD gets more chips for storing information so it can read/write faster using more. Check out this link, it has a picture that explains it pretty quickly. Howtogeek

Also remember that games are getting HUGE nowadays so always having access to a large hard drive is important also.

Do you recommend any brand or model for gtx 1070? The mobo is a asus b350 plus, currently I have the other components coming in but the only things are left undecided or pending are the SSD and GPU while the rest is already sorted out
