Should I crossfire with a 7870K or just upgrade the GPU? If I crossfire, does the 7870K have to be made by the same manufacturer as my 7850K? If I upgrade the GPU, what GPU should I get? What won't get bottlenecked by my CPU? My PSU is 650W. Thanks for the help.

Solution
7850+7870 on XFire == 2x7850 on XFire
old and weak + old and weak = slightly faster old and weak + all disbenefits of multi GPU setup.

Disbenefits of any multi GPU setup:
- performance scaling depends on games
- not all games can run on this mode
- possible potential issues such as micro stutters
- consumes tons of power

It is better to go buy a newer GPU like GTX1050Ti or 1060.

You can pair two different AMD GPUs from the same generation but they will perform as if you crossfired the lower performing one.

Your GPU is very old and cross firing it with anything will just increase the power consumption without giving you any benefits at all. Better to get a 1050ti level card which will be cheaper and more powerful than crossfired 7850.
