I recently bought a msi gtx 1050 ti gaming x (great name for a graphics card by the way) and I when I tried to install it ... nothing the computer wouldn’t even turn on but when I switched it back it turned on and booted perfectly I’ve heard the possible fix for this is updating the bios but I can’t help but feel it may be something else considering I originally slapped together a computer with the cheapest parts I could find on msy.com (Australian computer part seller)
