Hi. I currently have 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 1600MHz Ram. Is it fine to install another 2x4GB sticks in the remaining two slots of the GA-Z87X-D3H mobo? i.e. total of 4x4GB sticks.

I know there have been a lot of similar questions on this, but I want to know whether I will notice any difference in speed? Is 2x8GB a lot better??

My rig is primarily built for gaming.

Also, is there any OC guide for this motherboard?

Current setup:
intel i7 4770K 3.5GHz
GA-Z87X-D3H mobo
2x4GB Corsair Vengeance Pro ddr3 1600mhz
Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo
Gigabyte aorus GTX 1060 6GB xtreme edition
EVGA SuperNova 650W

Thanks.

Yea my memory is running at the correct speed (1866) & timings (can't remember off hand). It's possible that getting the same kit would work but RAM is really finicky so it may or may not work. As for the OC the increased clock speed didn't really do much TBH, at least for my uses (gaming), I'm actually running it at stock clocks currently to keep the temp/fan speed down.

Thank you for your answer.

I noticed your build has 4 x 4GB G.Skill ddr3 RAM. Are you getting your desired RAM speed while gaming with this setup? And one other question. Did you notice any improvement in FPS when you OCd your cpu to 4.4 ghz?
