I have a bit of an odd issue. I got home from a trip and now I can't get my desktop to connect to the internet. I've tried the following thus far:
-confirmed internet works on my laptop.
-tried restarting modem, router, & desktop
-tried connecting desktop via Ethernet cable. (verified Ethernet cable works with laptop) Gives error: unidentified network: no internet access.
-tried to see if the internet would work in Windows 7 (I have the desktop set up to duel boot between two SSDs. The primary is running Windows 10 and the secondary is running Windows 7)
-tried disconnecting wireless card to ensure it wasn't shorting something. Ethernet still won't work with this disconnected.
-tried manually assigning IP address and DNS server.

I tried searching around, but I haven't had any luck finding a working solution. The wireless Ethernet card is in the first PCI slot and the Ethernet connection is in the motherboard itself. Being that neither of these work and the OS/ system image doesn't make a difference, does this mean that something happened to my motherboard?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Solution

It says that they are both working properly.

The issue seems to be mostly solved now. I managed to get connected to my 2.4ghz band. After being connected I ran the trouble shooter again for the ethernet cable and it said that DHCP wasn't enabled and it was then able to correct that for the hard wire connection. I'm not sure why I can't connect to the 5ghz band, but at least I'm connected. (my phone is connected to this without issue) Thank you very much for the help! I'll post something on here if I manage to get the issue with connecting to the 5 ghz band figured out.

Thanks again for your time!

The first time it said that the IP address was invalid (IP and DNS were set to automatic) so I tried setting them manually. This didn't fix the issue, but upon running the troubleshooter again the ID address invalid prompt did not return. On that attempt it said that Windows could not find a solution to the problem.
