Hi folks, me and a friend are trying to upgrade his computer. We aren't super tech savvy, but we did do a good amount of reading and researching. This is the build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/L3xFFd

He already has a 750watt powersupply and plans on just playing multiplayer games like dota or rainbow six siege. Are there any issues with this build you guys can see?

Solution
That's great news. Dota and siege are not intensive AAA games. So that quad core i3 is more than enough. And that rx470 can play those games in 1080p ultra at 60fps.

Unfortunately, the part number you gave is for an old x58 evga mobo.

If the psu is a supernova nex or g1, it's better to get a new one. If it's g2/g3, u r good.
Update which parts are you salvaging. As I see it, u got a z270 board for a locked 7500 cpu. And for games like dota and rainbow six siege, the 7500 is more than enough.

An Intel option with an upgrade path to 8700k and a beefier gpu if you choose :

So the difference between i3 i5 i7 is how many cores it has, which determines how many threads it can run, right? What that means to me is nothing. What does it mean? Are you suggesting an i3 just because he wants to play siege and dotes, or because an i5 or i7 wouldn't work? And you're also suggesting a smaller power supply, why is that?

As for the parts he is keeping, I think he was just keeping the power supply and an hdd. He had a EVGA 141-BL-E757-TR but I guess one of the ram slots was fried, he has a Radeon 470 and he did say that he would be fine keeping it but still wants to upgrade if the total can be kept around 1k which it seems it can.

You gotta explain those terms to me man

It's a bit lengthy to explain. Try reading reviews from jonnyguru.com or atleast the conclusion/scoring of the nex and g1 psu.
If you search ur part number in Google, it will list whether it's a g1, nex, g2 or g3.
All I can tell u now in simple terms is that u should get a tier 1 or tier 2 psu. The g1 and nex are tier 3.
