Hi guys,

So I posted on here a little while ago about a system I was buying for Xmas, at that point it was intel I was going for but have since changed my mind for various reasons, and now I have bought the Ryzen 1700x, could anyone recommend me the best mobo and ram (16gb) to go for.

Obviously im not looking to cheap out but just pretty much a quality setup without overspending. RGB and wifi are not important but would be nice. I have read some issues about ram and some mobos so I want to be sure before I hit that checkout button lol.

Budget for RAM is about £180.00 and ideally £170 for the mobo.

Cheers all.

Solution
I love my ASRock AB350 Pro4 motherboard

  • ■ two M.2 slots (including NVMe bootable)
    ■ three 4-pin case fan headers
    ■ RGB header for the Wraith Spire LED cooler and supporting software
    ■ good overclock support
My Ryzen 7 1700 is happily chugging away at 3.6 GHz. I have it paired with 2x8GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM (CMK16GX4M2A2666C16).

For more recent Ryzen systems I have been buying the G.Skill Flare X RAM, which is designed specifically for Ryzen.

I've also got an msi B350M Mortar Arctic motherboard, but I prefer the ASRock board.
