Hi guys! So I was looking for a monitor that's offering a 120 hz or more for a decent -- not too expensive amount of money. Then I found this AOC G2460PF 144 hz 1080p with free-sync feature. SO as mentioned in the title, I'm pairing it with a gtx 1070 gpu (which I am completely aware of not being able to use the freesync feature that this monitor has).

I wanna ask if will there be any problem of having a nvdia gpu paired with this monitor, aside from minus-freesync? like the compatibility and stuff? will it even cause a technical problem for my rig?

Also, I wanna ask if these g-sync and freesync stuff are really necessary tools for gaming? at least for the rig that I have. Thank you guys so much!

The monitor will work fine.
I have a freesync setup and I don't use the freesync option as I push more the freesync range in most games.
My friend has the same monitor, Asus MG279Q, powered by a 980 and he loves it and is glad he didn't spend the money for G-Sync.
Go for it and have fun.

That's great! Another question if you don't mind. Kinda newbie question but I'm wondering since it is known that when the fps exceeds the native Hz of a particular monitor it will cause tearing and stuttering as the monitor cannot catch up with the frame rates that are being thrown at it. Let's make the scenario entirely different, will having 'too much' Hz compared to what amount of fps I am having cause any similar tearing/stuttering just like having more fps than the Hz?(for my case I'm gonna have a 144 Hz and while playing BF1 for example I'll get around 80 fps)
Thank you so much for answering by the way!

I just really want a sweet smooth gameplay on the games that I play..

I play BF1 sometimes and can tell you the extra Hz on the monitor will not hurt your gameplay.

More frames than HZ is what can cause tearing. More HZ than frames won't.

Freesync or gsync can help in another way. Let's saying you're getting 90fps in your game, then in a demanding part of your game the framerate drops to 50fps. Having an adaptive sync can keep the monitor HZ locked to the framerate, so that drop doesn't feel as distruptive.

This is assuming the HZ and framerate are within the range the adaptive sync handles. So the point is tearing is one issue active sync can help with, framerate spiking up and down is another one.
