i have thermaltake smart SE 530w psu, with the attached power chart

TT_SPS-530W_04.png

can this psu handle those two cards on their default bios?

1st PowerColor RED DRAGON Radeon RX 580 DirectX 12 AXRX 580 4GBD5-3DHDV2/OC 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 (max 106w on afterburner)

2nd Sapphire Radeon R9 270 2GB GDDR5 DVI-I/DVI-D/HDMI/DP Dual-X

i did some calculation to get an approximate system power consumption on +12v rail
pc = 15v
safety margin = 5v
rx 580 = 9v
r9 270 = maybe around 11v?
Total = 40v < 41v :heink:

system shall be 24/7 mining/gaming, so am a bit terrified to test it based on my current knowledge

I am not a fan of thermaltake psu's. It will handle , but it's not going to be that safe. If I were you I would buy the best psu I could get , as running 24/7 costs you much money and taking a better officiency power supply will reduce the costs. The psu's I recommend.:

No, I wouldn't trust that PSU to run those cards at full power simultaneously. Also, have you done your research on mining profitability of a R9 270? I'm curious how much you'd be making with that card even before you take into account power costs...

r9 270 gets 440 h/s on monero , rx 580 gets 650 stock ( up to 800 bios modded), so the 270 still profitable specially with 0.04$ / kwh as power cost
