Upgrade AMD Athlon II X2 265 to AMD FX-8170

Solution
More than likely you can't. Just because it can take a FX4100 doesn't mean it can take any AM3+ CPU.

Most OEM boards are NOT meant for that high of a CPU wattage (For comparison intels new 6 core CPU's use 95 watts like the 5 year old 4100. Otherwise they have always been 65 watt chips and a FX8000 series are all 125 watt CPU. I highly doubt it can handle that AMD CPU. Now that I think of it I can really name any OEM that used the AMD FX 8000 series in any of their OEM PC's.

Not only that but sometimes their BIOS is hardwired to only accept the CPUs listed.

Yeah even though your mobo supports the 95watt TDP 4100 it likely wont support the 8170 on a bios level if it is not listed. And that is probably for a reason, a 125watt CPU like the 8170 would likely overwhelm the VRM on some OEM board and throttle.

Upgrading PSU to 450w / 500w is not the solution ? Because of wattage is higher than old one.

Why do you want to upgrade to an 8170 in particular? According to wikipedia that particular model was cancelled and never even released...
Regardless, similar CPUs (e.g. FX 8150) are pretty poor by today's standards, and weren't that great even when they came out nearly 6 years ago.
