I just recently rebuilt my computer. Got new cpu, motherboard, cpu cooler and RAM.
When I was downloading drivers and I restarted the computer I got a warning message about the cpu temperature. I went into BIOS I saw that the cpu temperature was at 90C, this was just 15minutes after I started the computer.
At first I thought I had installed the cpu cooler incorrectly so I reinstalled it and reapplied the thermal paste. Started the computer again and went into BIOS to check the temps and I could see the temperature rising, it went from 22C to 50C in less than two minutes. I dont know what to do :(

Components:
motherboard: asus rog strix z370-f gaming
cpu: intel i5 8600k
cooler: nzxt kraken x62
gpu: msi gtx 1070 gaming x
psu: coolermaster v650
ram: ballistix 16gb 2666mhz (2x8gb)

Solution
Sounds like yet another dead Kraken, 4th one in as many days. Get it out of there and install another cooler. Go for a big air cooler like a 212 or Noctua if you can find it locally. They are bulky and a bit tricky to install but they work for years and cool better than AIO coolers. Your CPU I don't think comes with a stock cooler otherwise you would just put it on there. I would avoid running the system until the cooler is replaced, overheating like that is hard on the chip.

Before you do any of this, try giving the cooler a little shake, could have an air bubble.

I can hear the pump flush the liquid for a second when I turn the computer on so im assuming it is working. I cant really feel anything when touching the tubes while its running tho.

I have the same problem, pleas help. Exactly the same parts too... i5 8600k and x62 kraken. The pump makes a flushing noise but the temps rise up to 100C. Please help.
