Hi everyone, looking for some expert advice/opinions. Just bought a 6800 with one of the corners broken/missing. Seller claimed it was still working, no specific details..
Planning to test it myself on a work machine..
What are the chances it will work? (from what i've read it depends on the missing pads/pins)
and 2) - can the motherboard get ruined if i try it? Any tips/opinions appreciated! :)

I hope you got it for like 1.00 because that is all it is worth! There's probably a dozen or so pads gone! If you try it and it doesn't work.. you might be able to claim he falsely advertised that it still worked when it doesn't.

Sorry if I was not clear - it was being sold with the deffect/missing corner clearly stated. The seller will not accept it back, I bought it as he stated the CPU was working, but he will not give any guarantee. I googled to find if a CPU may work with a broken corner. Seemed to me in a lot of cases it does, if the missing pins/pads are unimportant (voltage related).
I was wondering if someone could confirm that.. maybe someone can tell if the missing chunk has important pads or not, and whether trying it out on a motherboard can ruin it
