Usb not recognized?

I have a 64GB Lexar USB, but whenever I insert it into my computer a new drive (E: ) shows up, but when I try to open it, it says "please insert a disk into (E: )" This has never happened to me before, I don't know what's wrong with my USB. Please Help! Thank you!

Does it do this when you use different usb ports or on another PC?

If so your usb drive most likely died. It happens.

Sounds like a failing thumb drive. I'd plug it in and pull off as much data as you can before it crashes, then move that data to a new thumb drive.

No way to fix that. USB thumb drives runs on the same process as memory or SSD would. Typically once its damage, its done for.

It's not like a mechanical hard drive with sectors that can often be recovered.

I've run across some web sites that offer software tackling USB stick devices, however, I'm 0 for 4 now, so I cannot recommend any specific software.

Yeah I wouldn't trust though sites. If you know how flash memory works, you'd question those sites for sure.
