No I either clone everything or just start fresh. Cloning can sometimes be a pain in the butt, the results don't always boot and need troubleshooting. At least you always have the original drive to fall back on though so in the past I have just kept switching cloning programs until I found one that worked (the one I linked). No harm trying it though, all it costs is time and you don't have to sit there watching it.
If you do start fresh disconnect the hdd when you install windows on the ssd or there will be stuff hidden on the hdd required for booting, only MS understands why this should be the case but it is.
Most SSD manufacturers over cloning software for download on their websites. Should do the trick.
Otherwise I've had some good results with https://www.backup-utility.com/
Personally I prefer to just do a fresh install and start over, get the absolute best out of the new SSD that way.
Dude, sounds like you're deep in the friendzone
I used Carbon Copy Cloner recently. Worked well, but was for OSX, so setting up boot drive was a bit different.

I'm guessing you prefer to clone everything except the OS, and then do a fresh install of the OS. That right?
