so the switch 810 case i have ,the power button doesnt work,i can still start the pc,i just haved to slide off the door everytime and use the mobo's power button.I'd rather not do that,i looked on EBAY and supposedly found one,i dont even know if its the right one and the shipping is 30 buks alone. Is there somewhere i can buy parts for this, from NZXT,or somewhere in the US?

Solution
No to be contrary, but I've seen tens of power switches stop working. Not "break" exactly, simply "not switching anymore" would be more acccurate. It's a moving part that can and does fail.

Obviously some will be better quality than others. Actually I've even had to replace them on my own cases in the past. I've had two Cooler Master cases that have had switch failures. Push down on switch, no telltale click and no triggering of power. Clearly switch failure. As I said, most PC on/off switches are similar in design and can be sourced from many places for cheap.

If the case is not very old though, I'd agree that contacting NZXT and asking for a replacement is a good idea. Fractal Design sent me a whole extra set of feet and a brand...
Contact NZXT. They DO sell some replacement parts.

You should actually be able to replace JUST the switch itself, without the button. If you pull the switch you will probably find that it is a common, likely universal, PC power on switch. Most of them have some kind of part number on them and THAT will usually lead you to a replacement.

Not always though. Occasionally the power switch is proprietary. Seems I read about a whole bunch of these Switch 810 (And other NZXT case power on switches) going bad and that there were universal replacements for them on Amazon and Ebay. Need to know what the actual switch itself looks like though with out the button or get a part number off of it.

You could also just get a universal switch and wire it up, mount it UNDER the case, or wherever it's out of sight, and use that to trigger the unit on or off. Might even be able to pop it directly in place of the one that's there now.

In all the years of using and building computers I've nearly never seen a switch break. I've had one die. (If you do buy one, momentary on, not constant on btw.) What happens much more often is it's not plugged into the board correctly. Double check the switch, it's probably in the wrong spot.

As mentioned above you can use the reset button as well. If you plug that in and it still doesn't work then you aren't plugging it in correctly.

Fractal Design sent me a whole extra set of feet and a brand new windowed side panel when I complained about minor scratches on my Define S out of the box. I honestly doubt NZXT will be any less helpful and if you cannot get any love you might try contacting Eric Lam on the NZXT CAM forums

I'm sure he can put you in touch with the right person to get it fixed. I wouldn't think a whole panel needs replacement. The switch just pops right out of a clip on most of these cases that I've seen.

I know they can fail. The only time I ever had one fail was on one of my older cases. In all other "cases" (pun intended.) the reason why a PC won't power on from the button is it's plugged in wrong. If this has always happened then I'm sure it's plugged in wrong. If it used to work and now does, I'd double check to make sure it's not loose or something. If it's still tight the the switch did die. It's a moving part and can fail, but they are normally very solid things that, at least for me, rarely fail.

I agree. However, you and I probably don't use the switch nearly as much as a lot of people do. Also, "punching" the switch, by pushing it more firmly than is strictly necessary (Which I've seen plenty of people do, especially if they are mad at the computer for some silly reason) can prematurely cause the switch to fail.

I rarely if ever touch the switch on my case. My system, and likely yours, are usually either on or sleeping, so the only time the switch gets touched is on the rare occasions when an actual cold boot is needed, or after replacing some hardware or after a power failure. Some people use the switch constantly for everything from restarts to sleeping. Plus, although I don't think this applies to the case in question, some case manufacturers really cheap out on small electronics like the power switches and mini boards for the front panel connectors.

just to add...the switch(was) very light to turn on,and our lovely cookie(our baby cat) constantly looks for afection on the case being its right next to me,so she would constantly jump on th etop of the case, turning the button on and off,the worst time was when i was in a raid crafting sumtin in ddo and couldnt get back in to finish what i was doing....but ya...i think her turning it on and off didnt help lol

NZXT generally has pretty good product support. If you start a support ticket with them I'm quite sure they'll send you a new switch for free. I had an issue with my Grid+ v2 controller that was due to a bad cable and they simply sent me an entire replacement unit free of charge. Had the new unit in less than three days.

Don't put it off though, contact them ASAP because with the holiday shipping it may take longer for things to get sent out and longer for deliveries to arrive.

I have a cat here as well. Two actually. One of them broke a 48" Samsung I bought when I moved in. Had it for a day or two. The other likes to jump onto my case. She is the reason I have a ruler on the top so she can't press the buttons. Cats...

Hah. I've got one of those wooden backscratchers and the cats here have learned to stay away from my computer desk or they get whacked on the rump. They still THINK about it, but they have learned to suppress their desires to be near my hardware these days.
