Hey guys I am thinking to upgrade my gaming PC a bit next week, I have the following hardware now please suggest me what should I change here..

CPU : AMD FX 6300 3.5GHz
RAM : 16GB DDR3 1600MHz
GPU : MSI GEFORCE GTX 1060 6GB GAMING X
HDD : WD 1TB, Seagate 250 GB SATA
O/S : Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit [build 1709]
Mobo : GIGABYTE 78LMT-S2PT

I think putting a SSD for the C Drive would be a good choice for now but I am also worried about the processor which might soon become under powered in future but for now I can play every game at high settings 1080p at 40+ FPS, for me its O.K at least no games lags in my PC now but I think, new games in future might lag on my pc..

Please suggest me what CPU I can put here and what other upgrades I can get for my pc.. Thanks and Merry Christmas in advance!

Solution
All FX series are no longer really up2date for new games.
They are already bottlenecks for some heavy AAA games since 1-2 years already.
I see no point on further investing and keeping that platform anymore.

If you insist on keeping the platform despite being not a recommended solution, you can take FX 83xx but check the mobo compatibility list first for those proc.
Ignore FX9xxx, since they are only big jokes, even if you see these guys on the compatibility list.
GTX1060 6gb is still powerful.
The rest should be also still ok.

As for processor,
FX6300 is not bad but not that good either for new games.
You should pick either Coffee Lake I5/7 or Ryzen 5/7. (Budget and goal dependent)
Note: If your Windows is an OEM version, you might probably have to buy a new Windows copy if you replace the platform (proc, mobo)
