H110M-A trouble with RAM and Bios

Hi guys n gals

My first post here so go easy on me please :p

I usually find my own way out of any hardware problems but this time im stumped.

Basically ive got a H110M-A with 4GB RAM installed (Corsair 4GB DDR4 1.2V 2133 MHZ 288PIN) and i decided to upgrade so went and bought a 16GB DDR4 stick (CRUCIAL 16GB DDR4 1.2V 2133MHZ 288PIN).

However when i inserted it my PC will only show that i only have the original 4GB in and if i remove it leaving only the new 16GB then my PC wont boot as screen stays blank.

So after some Google searching i found that its most likely that my BIOS needs updating . So i took a look on the ASUS website and saw that the BIOS they had up was very much indeed a newer version so i downloaded it. Now heres where the problems begin.

Then after that it says PEUPDATER.EXE RUN FAILED

So i tried various fixes i found online and nothing is working.

Next up ive tried using the EZ flash utility in the motherboard BIOS.
However when i click on "update using internet" it gives me three choices like DHCP and Fixed IP but they all come up with error "network not found cannot connect to server" and in my BIOS it says "Internet offline" even though the ethernet is connected and my internet works perfectly fine in windows.

The only other thing i thought to do was try and update BIOS from USB but i cant find the file for my motherboard anywhere. The ASUS website only gives me the folder that i posted above and theres no CAP file in there for me to copy over. From what i gather you need a CAP file on the USB to update a BIOS?

My current BIOS is from back in 2016 and the ASUS website has one for 2017 for my MB but theres no option to download to USB only a setup exe. This is very annoying as im hoping it will fix my RAM problems.

Thank so much for the file! It installed flawlessly and my BIOS has now been updated however it still wont recognise the new RAM.

When i have just the new 16GB in the PC wont boot at all. Its just a black screen saying "no signal" and no power to the keyboard or mouse even though the PC is on.

The PC works fine again with the original 4GB in. Could it be that my motherboard is too old for this RAM stick or a fault with the RAM? Are there any options in the BIOS i need to change? Everything is on default at the moment.

UPDATE
Sorry ive just checked the stick and the label actually says CT16G4DFD4213 so instead of 8213 its got a 4 and nothing is coming up online for this stick except one very odd looking site.

Yeah im going to go back to the store now. They have one other in stock but ill make sure its got the right product code.

The store is Computer exchange in the UK , it sells second hand products and PC parts that are all tested so either this stick passed the test and its just my MB that doesnt like it or someone didnt do their job properly and sold me a fake stick lol

Ill messege with the result of the new stick. If i dont get in touch shortly then it just means i didnt get another stick and will order a new one online.

Ah thats the problem. Its got ECC on it. Thanks , ill return this second stick aswell then lol Problem solved
