Every component except for HDD performing way below expectations

Hi all,

Built a PC a few months ago and never really had a problem with, but I had also never benchmarked it, so I have a feeling this has been going on for awhile and I just never noticed considering it's so fast and I'm not one to even look at my FPS.

However, some recent problems building my project in Unreal Engine made me check benchmarks and sure enough, on userbenchmark and performancetest my scores are WAY below what they should be, notably GPU and Memory. CPU I think I can chalk up to the fact that it's not currently overclocked.

My first guess on memory (2 sticks) was that I had them in the wrong slots. And sure enough, I had them side by side, so I've now got them 1, 0, 1, 0. However, the bench still didn't improve (XMP Auto is enabled). I've also disconnected my other monitor and still no luck on the GPU.

Any advice on what to look for?

I took your MoBo model off from the bench results and UserBenchmark site identified your MoBo as being Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming 3 (rev. 1.0),
specs: http://www.gigabyte.us/Motherboard/GA-AB350-Gaming-3-rev-10#kf

I based my reply about MoBo on that MoBo but UserBenchmark site can be wrong.

Something to try: uninstall Gygabyte Easytune and all that bloatware that comes with it.

While MoBo utility programs have nice GUI and they look fancy, most of the times they cause several issues while hogging system resources. Also, they are prone to overwrite any BIOS changes.

If you want to OC your CPU - use BIOS. If you want to OC your GPU - use MSI Afterburner. For...

You sure you put your RAM into most preferable slots? Since according to your MoBo manual, pages 9 and 10, best RAM slots for 2 sticks would be DDR4_1 and DDR4_2. In other words, counting from CPU side, it would be: 0, 1, 0, 1.

While you have set your XMP profile on "Auto" in BIOS, did you made sure that your RAM is actually running at 3200 Mhz and not at 2400 Mhz within Windows?

Looked your bench results too and something is hogging up your RAM amount quite considerably. On average, you have only 4GB of free RAM out of total 16GB. While on my Skylake build (full specs with pics in my sig), i too have 16GB of RAM and i'm only using on average 4GB of RAM, leaving 12GB free. If you'd also free up your RAM then you'd get better bench score.

I looked more into that and the motherboard manual said slot 1 and 3, which would be 0,0,1,1. I tried that and the computer wouldn't even boot. putting it in 0,1,0,1 only gave me 8 GB of RAM with 8 GB reserved. I've got it 1,1,0,0 right now and I'm seeing all 16 GB and the clock seems to be correct. Here's the recent bench:

Going off this utility, everything looks to be correct. The only thing to mention here is the GPU keeps cycling between a really low # of Mhz and 1709.

If you want to OC your CPU - use BIOS. If you want to OC your GPU - use MSI Afterburner. For checking your system status, use either Speccy or HWinfo64. To see which programs hog your system resources, use Process Explorer.
download links,
MSI Afterburner: https://www.msi.com/page/afterburner
Speccy: https://www.piriform.com/speccy/download
HWinfo64: https://www.hwinfo.com/download.php
Process Explorer: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer

I'm using all those handy programs since they don't hog the system resources while providing the info needed. Oh, here's also a guide for Process Explorer: https://www.howtogeek.com/school/sysinternals-pro/lesson2/
