Hi,

So basically i just shifted my old computer from a smaller (micro-atx case) to a bigger computer case (Thermaltake Urban R31).

Before i shifted, the temperature was actually pretty impressive (27-30 at idle and 50-65 at 100% usage). I am using the noctua nh-d15s. The reason why i moved was becoz i couldnt seal the side of the case.

Anyway, the temperature now is 35-50 (it fluctuates) at idle, and 70++ at 100% usage. I wonder why is it happening this way?

Is it because of the thermal paste becoz i checked and it look normal to me. I will try and change it to see the difference. Other than that, will the CPU fan affect the temp? Are the two fans more inferior or something?

Im plugging the cpu cooler into the cpu_fan 4 pin socket. I used to put them into the sys_fan 4 pin socket. I wonder that has made a difference.

Question from prefer93 : "i7 7700k temp fluctuates"

Hi,

Is it normal for my CPU temperature to fluctuate at idle? It goes from 30++ to 40 and even 50 but the 40/50 only lasts for about a second then it drops to 30++ and stay there quite constantly.

So apparently, it got better. I reapplied the thermal paste but it seemed to be the same, then i plugged the cpu cooler back to sys_fan and removed the rear fan and replaced it with my old one and now the baseline is around 27-28 celcius. I couldnt remember whether it hit 25-26 before but 27-28 is okay i guess.
