I have decided to buy a new graphics card, I was about to decide on an nvidia card the gtx 1060. However, i looked into things and it turns out that my 75hz monitor supports freesync, which has somewhat altered my decision for an rx580. I was also thinking about getting an 1070 which my friends suggested me, but i thought that may be an overkill for 1080, but for a smooth 75hz monitor it would be pretty good. So in the end, i wanna know wether I should get the amd card which has freesync or nvidia which is somewhat better for gaming. Freesync or nvidia?

Those cards are in two different leagues, the RX 580 4gb would be suitable for gaming at 1080P and you can utilize the Freesync on your monitor. With the 1070 your paying a much higher premium but that card will keep pretty much every game above 75 FPS so you won't need to work about Freesync as Vsync would work fine. Comes down to how much your willing to spend.

I'm a bit bias to Nvidia as some of the games I play utilize Nvidia PhysX (Borderlands/Batman series).

My question to you is did you buy a freesync monitor, or did you not know it was a freesync monitor? It does not make sense, if you knew it was, to then buy an Nvidia card. Of course you can just use it as a monitor, and not care about freesync, but that kind of defeats the purpose of buying it then doesn't it?

What games do you play? What CPU do you have? If you play PUBG and you have a decent quad core. get an Nvidia card. The game runs better on those. If you don't play Nvidia favored games, and since money seems to not be a problem, get the 580 and enjoy freesync along with the 580's great performance.

I didn't know I was buying a freesync monitor at the time, I only bought it because of the 75hz feature. But even if I knew I would've never consider buying a g-sync monitor because of the price.

I have a pretty old(3years) fx 8350 cpu, in which I'll replace a year later with intel. But really this freesync thing is what keeps me from really deciding on an nvidia because I heard so many people say this freesync is so great. So yea I still can't really decide. Also I play all kinds of games, though not the all of them are recent but here's a few: gta 5, f13th, evil within 2, witcher 3, doom, resident evil 7 etc.
