I've tried turning on h81 btc r2 motherboard with screwdriver, connected CPU, ram and power supply as instructed and when I touched the pins, it worked for like 0.1 seconds, then just stopped, a tiny tiny bit of smoke came out, and now it's not responding. here is a photo of motherboard after I disconnected the power supply cable. Did I just kill my motherboard without even turning it on? :(

Solution
What went wrong is you used bolts to put the motherboard in and they cut into the power rails, shorted to ground and blew up the board. If you repeat that process you'll blow up another as well.

No worries, we've all done ... unfortunate things.... when we were learning to work with something new to us. I once blew the whole powerplane off a mainframe cabinet because I tripped with a box of screws in my hand....
