I have a problem with the main ISP router(huawel
HG8245Q) which is a consistence drop of connection with and without Ethernet.

The main router is connected to an optical wire which when I ping it, I can see normal latency with huge drops in between.

I have seen a way to bridge the connection to ps3 using new wan ipoe which skips the router. I want to do this using a secondary router. What I mean by that is the main is connected to another router by Ethernet which uses ipoe.

I have tried setting the secondary(tplink n600) with pppoe but with no luck. What am I messing. I have the username and password of the pppoe. If you have a way to fix it please help me.

If you plug into a lan port with ethernet and it does not function correctly putting it into bridge mode likely will not help. The actual routing function is not all the intensive and cause few problems. Most routers have no issues keeping up with fairly fast internet connections.

If this does not work when it is connected via ethernet I could call the ISP and make them fix it.

ONT devices tend to be restricted in what you have access to. It may not be possible to place the device into bridge mode. Sometime the ISP must be the one to change that setting because they lock it out from the end customer.

Performance wise running router behind router will cause few issues so you should be able to just plug your second router into the...

Performance wise running router behind router will cause few issues so you should be able to just plug your second router into the ONT and just not use the WIFI on the ONT. The double NAT can cause some issues for game consoles but it will not cause latency issues.

I would make the ISP fix this.
