Hi, here am i trying to buy an SSD for my computer, but i want to know what is good for what i need and what size i would need!
I want it to fit my OS, editing programs such as adobe after effects, vegas pro and some lighter scripting programs such as codeblocks and maybe just enough space to install only steam on it.
I currently have a 1tb wd drive for footage and games + scripts folders and stuff
Shall i go second hand stuff?
My specs:
i5 6400
r7 370
8gb ram
1 tb
500w psu
My budget is about 50$

I would NOT buy a second hand SSD. SSD's have a finite lifespan based on how much data has been written to the drive already. Unless you can have the drive in front of you, connected, and can see for yourself that it still has plenty of life left in it based on how much has been written to the drive and how old the drive is, it's very risky.

I would recommend buying new. A 240gb or larger should be plenty to fit Windows plus any applications you wish to install easily.

You will need to increase your budget a bit though. This would be a good option if you are in the US.

You MIGHT be able to get by with a smaller drive, but a larger drive is going to last a lot longer if you tend to fill the drive. This is an option though if the size is big enough.
