So I've finished my PC build, and since I don't have an optical drive, I went to the motherboard manufacturer's website to download the drivers for the motherboard. When the downloads are complete, do I need to do anything else to install these, or will it do it automatically? I'm confused. Thanks :)

You have to run the downloads to install the drivers. Sometimes you have to first uncompress them, sometimes the driver self-uncompresses. If the file is an .EXE file, just run it. If it is a .ZIP file, you need to unzip it, then run the EXEecutable file. Usually it will be setup.exe.
If that isn't enough info, please list the board you are trying to install drivers on.
Btw, Win10 does a good job of automatically handling driver installation now. Manually installing drivers really isn't necessary for the basic drivers.
