Hello there Boys and Girls , I have a quick question , i have a little ultra-book with a dual core processor and 2 GB ram. The question is simple , I think it's very common this question but i didn't manage to get a stable answer so i what to know it for sure.
I want to upgrade it because it's very small and compact , I will buy a i5 processor [it's compatible with the socket (it's soldered as well, but I can replace it ) ] and i want to add something like 8gb of ram , because it's supported by the chipset and processor. The question is simple , can i replace that soldered ram ? I would love if there will be some coherent answers and not something like "it's expensive " or something like that, i just want to know for sure if i can do it or not ,
The laptop is a Asus x201e , DDR3 SDRAM .

Thank you and sorry if i had some mistakes in writhing this post.

Solution
No you can't, for multiple reasons.

1. While you may think you can redo the CPU with something better, the BIOS and motherboard won't support it.
(and you probably can't)

2. Same with the RAM. Soldered, and the BIOS knows not what to do with anything else.

So you say that I can't upgrade the cpu even if the chipset and the socket is compatible
And with the ram , if they have the same specs , i mean same model but more memory i can't do that. ?

Correct.
The same 'socket number' (BGA?) has little to do with how it is actually soldered to the board.
Hundreds of tiny connections, all originally done by machine.

And still the motherboard and BIOS won't know how to talk to it.
