The short version is, will a Noctua NH-D15 fit inside a CORSAIR - Carbide Series® SPEC-02 Mid-Tower?

The long story is, I got a good price on an i7 7700K, and I figured it would pair well with my new GTX 1080 Ti, but only if I can find a good cooler that fits in my case/works with my motherboard (Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI). Will the Noctua NH-D15 fit inside my case, and if not, what's a good substitute that will allow for overclocking should I desire it?

Since I see this point being brought up a lot, no, I don't plan on doing overclocking right out of the gate, but I'd like to future-proof things in case I change my mind. I also didn't go with a Ryzen CPU because my current motherboard doesn't support it and I didn't want to spend another couple hundred on top of what I was already spending.

The cryorig H7 is a very good cooler that is only 145mm tall.

The key to getting air coolers to work well is to provide plenty of front intake airflow.
I like the case. It comes with a 120mm led fan in front.
I would add a 140mm front intake and you should be good to go.
To do really well, replace the led fan with a second 140mm fan.
Bigger/slower turning fans push more air and are quieter.
