I recently made a new build and installed an LG Blu-ray drive that I had from a previous build. The thing is that for what ever reason when I press the eject button it does nothing but show the blinking light. Its weird because in the old build it worked fine. The drive is OEM not sure if thats the problem.

Has it been used in awhile before the swap? Sometimes the tray will stick if it hasn't been opened for awhile. Have you tried the eject hole with a paperclip to get it opened manually, then retry? OEM isn't going to matter, as the only difference between that and retail is the packing, software, and cables and sometimes better warranty. Outside of this, did you attached the mounting screws or bracket to tight? Possible its squeezing the drive a bit preventing it from opening correctly.

if there no a disk in the drive. unplug the data cable and just make sure power cable on right. with power only on the drive will the try open and close. with the paper clip test does it feel like the tray gears broke or the try not lined up.
I Bought it like 2 months ago or so. On Black Friday I swapped it into my new build. I used it moderatly. I just tried the paperclip, it opens but I need to pull it out manually with flathead. I put a CD but it doesnt read it at all, I dont think I even hear it rotate. And no its not screwed to tight.
