Turns on for a split second but it does not boot

Everything thing on my computer turns on for a second but it does not fully boot.(NEW BUILD)
I5 7600 (stock cooler)
Msi GTX 980 4GB
EVGA 500W 80
Asus Prime B250 pro
Corsair 16GB Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz

Possibly a power issue. Make sure everything is plugged in where it should be, especially the 8 pin CPU power.....I have heard of people managing to plug an 8 pin PCI-e connector into the CPU plug, this will cause a shut down as they are wired differently. Also check the wires from the case to the motherboard are all in the right place.

If everything is plugged in correctly, it could be a faulty PSU. The EVGA 500W 80 is a budget unit which uses lower quality components than their top of the line units. Do you have another PSU that your could try?
