Hello all! Having a bit of a problem I'm hoping you can help me with.

I was playing some video games last night (nothing too intensive that my computer couldn't handle) when it suddenly shut down out of nowhere. After a few attempts at the power button with no success, I turned off the PSU and unattached/reattached everything to no avail. When I turn the PSU on and make sure it's plugged in, I get a flashing red light from my mobo and a green light from my PSU, but the computer still won't turn on. I would really appreciate some help!

EDIT: Here are my specs! https://pcpartpicker.com/list/L9kLM8

So, I tried this. When I did the paperclip test (I couldn't connect it to one of the fans in the computer because I don't have the right adaptors on me) the fan on the top of the PSU spun. Does that mean that it isn't fried and that something else is the problem? Or could the PSU still be the issue here?

Yeah, nothing is spinning, so I guess it's the PSU. Time to contact Seagate I suppose

With nothing but the 24 pin attached, still nothing spins.

And if I don't have another power supply to test it? Is there anything else I can do? Also, is it possible it's anything I did to break the board? I've only had the computer for about 4-5 months.

Nope, never had a need to pump up anything beyond the out of the box levels. No reason to risk it if there wasn't a purpose to it.

So you do think it was some kind of power surge that may have killed it? What is the likelyhood that the CPU survived? How will I know?

Sorry for the late reply, was waiting for the new PSU to arrive to test it out. As you suspected, it wasn't the PSU that was the problem as I plugged everything in and the computer fails to start up.

The only two lights that are blinking within the rig are the PWR_LED on the motherboard and the LED on the GPU. The GPU light is blinking green, but the PWR light is blinking red. The CPU and VGA lights are not blinking.

When the power button is pressed upon the rig, nothing happens with the power supply. It doesn't attempt to start and the fan doesn't move.

I am still not receiving any sounds from the Motherboard as well.

I'm in the process of RMAing the old PSU and the Mobo. And I'm praying that the CPU survived whatever happened.

Do you think this is something I did wrong?

I know this is super late, but I just wanted to close the discussion by saying I just got the RMA motherboard back and everything is working once more. Thank you so much for all your help!!
