Hi all, MAJOR NOOB WARNING

as per title im in need of some help, ive always been a console gamer but decided in the last few months that i wanted to move to PC and enjoy the massive world it opens up!

so my set up:
*Corsair H105 Hydro Series, Extreme Performance 240mm Liquid CPU Cooler, LGA 115x, 1366, 2011, AM2, AM3, FM1, FM2, TR4

*8GB (2x4GB) Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX Black, PC4-19200 (2400), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 14-16-16-31, XMP 2.0, 1.2V

*1TB WD Black WD10JPLX, 2.5" Performance HDD, 9.5 mm, SATA III - 6Gb/s, 7200rpm, 32MB Cache, OEM

*ASUS PRIME Z370-A, Intel Z370, S 1151, DDR4, SATA3, Dual M.2, 2-Way SLi/3-Way CrossFire, Intel GbE, USB3.1 Gen2 A+C, ATX

*650W EVGA 650 B3, Full Modular, 80PLUS Bronze, SLI/CrossFire, Single Rail, 54.1A, 130mm Fan, ATX PSU

*Intel Core i5 8400, S 1151, Coffee Lake, 6 Core, 6 Thread, 2.8GHz, 4.0GHz Turbo, 9MB Cache, 1050MHz GPU, 65W, CPU, Box

*ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 Ti ROG STRIX ADVANCED GAMING 8GB GDDR5 VR Ready Graphics Card, 2432 Core, 1607MHz, 1683MHz Boost

Is the PC good enough or am i punching above its weight? i had a friend help me build it so im not actually sure im working with, im just learning as i go along

So my problems, Euro Truck 2 has been running fairly good with no lag until i installed Promods map 2.25 to start with its been ok but on the odd occaision it has just started to stutter/drop fps.

American truck has always been quite bad but since playing with some settings ive managed to smooth it out, unfortunatly still suffering a bit.

but im at a major loss with GTA V, ive only added a few cars in and all of a sudden im dropping to as low as 10fps regardless wether im using the cars or not, when i first put the cars in it was running as normal, i then had a crash and after that its just dyre, i only have 5mb download at my house (joys of living in the sticks ) so i dont want to reinstall the game as it will take 3 days!!

everything ive seen on the web with the i5 is people struggling with fps spiking which is being solved with ramping up all the settings to slow everything down but nothing on drops, the game is unplayable so any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Sam

My first thought is RAM. 8Gb is the minimum for gaming and modding games usually increases the RAM requirement. When these drops in fps happen is your SSD/HDD hitting 100% usage? If it is I bet it is caching to the drive due to lack of RAM.

Problem is you need to sell your current RAM and buy a new 2x8Gb kit. Adding another 2x4Gb is not guaranteed to work.
