Hi, my mobile network provide is currently Carphone Warehouse iD and I believe my ISP is Three. (Not sure why but when I Google my ISP, it said Three so I assume Carphone Warehouse have some sort of deal with Three). Anyway, I always get a different IP whenever I turn my mobile data on and whenever I look up my IP, it is blacklisted. I don't understand why every new IP I get assigned is blacklisted? I'm not sure what this really means but could someone please explain why this is happening? Thanks

You are posting from an IP address formerly used by a poster who was banned from Tom's. It is not a mobile address.

That link does not affect your account in any way. It's behaviour that gets folks banned and so long as yours is within our rules and general civic behaviour, you won't notice any problems.

Thanks for your response, are you saying that someone who previously had my IP was banned from the site. I just want to be clear that the fact that my IP is blacklisted is not my fault.

I'm posting from alternating WiFi and mobile IP addresses. Sometimes I have posted using WiFi and sometimes mobile data. Why was my address banned? I'm sorry but I'm a little confused. Was this due to someone who had the address before me? Thanks

Your mobile device will show an IP address of wherever you connect so if you're in, say, a café, and someone else had posted in Tom's and was banned, the café's address could show up in some lists of blacklisted sites but it is unlikely to affect your device as an individual.

As I posted earlier, you would not be sanctioned by Tom's for the sins of another, you're in the clear. I've never heard of a blacklisted IP address that wasn't caused by mass Spam mails emanating from it. Where did your information come from?

Your latest post has come from Three as an ISP which shows that either you or they were in a part of North London. Posts earlier today show your ISP is Sky Broadband and taht address does have form with Tom's.

So I went on Whatismyip.com and it tested the IP against dozens of blacklists and told me that it had been listed on several of them. I guess that means that someone who had the IP address before had spammed Tom's and I have been reallocated the ip

I have gone around in circles trying to figure out my my ip is blacklisted. Both my mobile ip and sky ip are blacklisted on various sites. I don't understand what the point in IP blacklisting is if your IP just changes so often! If someone who has been sending spam changes their IP and i get reallocated the address, why am I then responsible!? Should I even care?

Your username has not breached any rules of Tom's but a prior user of your static IP was banned from here.

There have been several users of the same static address have posted here in the past but the IP address was never blacklisted by this website.

There is no point in further protesting of innocence and trying to find out why your address is blacklisted because we cannot help you any further.

I'm going to close this thread now on grounds it can nowhere useful to anyone. Enjoy Tom's in a proper manner and you won't have any run-ins with the Moderation team.
