Have a question on the Asus Maximus Apex IX Board and Trident Z Ram.

So basically, I want to put in 16GB of the Trident Z 4266MHZ Ram, into a Asus Maximus Apex IX board, with a i7 7700k Processor OCed to 5ghz.

Has anyone tried similar to this with these parts? Were you able to get 4266mhz out of the ram somehow? If so, what did you raise the voltages to accomplish it while keeping the system stable?

Ill be putting my new system together in February. Basically, building it for VR and to play Pantheon when it releases. Really appreciate the help.

I have this setup with a GTX1080ti in a custom EK water loop.

I used “rajas” preset memory oc profile after I set it to XMP first. His profile is labeled 4133 17-18-17

I downcllcked it to 4133 and tightened up the timings over stock because at 4266 you’re onky hitting that speed if you change your base BCLK to 103.25 which for me, caused major issues with long term stability (gaming for over 3 hours) and with Ethernet throughput (would max at my ISP’s max of 350mbps then tumble down to 100-150mbps).

Using rajas profile allowed me to stay at the default 100BCLK.

I just made sure my initial FCLK was set to 1ghz, my ram set to 1.42v, my system standby voltage to 1.25-1.26, my...

I just made sure my initial FCLK was set to 1ghz, my ram set to 1.42v, my system standby voltage to 1.25-1.26, my vccio/SA within .05v of each other and they’re at 1.304/1.334 respectively.

Lastly I actually disabled the BCLK adaptive aware option, changed from the default auto. Oh and I changed my DMI voltage to 1.26xxx volts. Hope this helps.

5.1ghz/4.8ghz uncore with 0 negative avx offset.

Cheers

Update your bios to the latest revision from January 2018. Goto the memory tweaking overclock page and at the very top it’ll say memory profiles, go in there and under Samsung new b side 2x8gb, it’ll be at the bottom called raja’s profile 4133mhz@1.4 volts. I recommend upping your voltage to 1.42-1.44 manually for increased stability. Good luck.
