I want to connect 4 DVI/VGA monitors to my computer for work and came across this card. The BestBuy website says that it can connect a maximum of 6 monitors http://. I would appreciate if someone could explain how I could use 4 monitors using the 3 outputs. Thanks!

Solution
My understanding is that if you use VGA, DVI, or HDMI, you can have up to three monitors. It has to do with how those outputs work, the limit is three. For more than that, at least one output HAS to be display port. In addition, it's possible to daisy chain display port connections, which is why you see more than four monitors being used by some people.

That's why you won't see 6 HDMI monitors running off one card for example.

Thx for your response. These are more expensive than the card itself. I was wondering if I could use a DVI to 2xDVI splitter cable and HDMI to 2xDVI splitter cable to do the job.

which cpu? motherboard?

If your cpu has integrated gpu like A10-7860k, plug the 4th monitor into motherboard vga/dvi/hdmi.

If your cpu does not have igpu, check if your motherboard supports 2 PCIE slots, if so, buy 2 GT 710 and you can support 4 monitors.

Sorry my bad! This is an Acer desktop that I bought 10 yrs back with Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33 Ghz, 8GB RAM, 64bit Windows 10 OS. The motherboard is G33T-AM from Acer. It has only 1 PCI-e slot. The existing graphics card (ATI AMD Radeon HD3450) can drive only 2 monitors at a time & it deactivates the on-board graphics controller. I checked BIOS (Megatrend) but there's no option on graphics controller.
