Hey

recently my high end pc has been getting jumpy frame rate with corresponding audio static when it jumps the frame, not matter what game i play or the graphics setting

It did happen before but i cleaned the pc out seemed to work for a week then the problem came back

the temp for the cpu is 50-65 degrees

pc spec:

windows 10
Nvidia 1080 gtx
intel i7 4.2ghz
1tb hard drive
250 gb ssd (for windows 10)
heat sink

from pc specialist

only 4 months old

the case it came in was completely wrong for the pc as it doesnt ventilate properly so when i play games i keep the side of the case off

both the fans are running at max speed

please advise and bare in mind im a complete noob when it comes to pcs

That is not too bad at all..Everything seems to be running at the right temps. I would re-install your drivers...What motherboard are you using? Also go to device manager in Windows and see if there are any yellow fault tags against anything.

It is a ASUS PRIME Z270-P
Currently in ideal all cores are at 22 degrees and mother board is 21

How does uninstalling and installing drivers help out of curiosity? And which drivers?

It might just be that there are some newer drivers for the Asus Prime Z270 on the Asus page, especilly if you have not checked in the 4 months of ownership, including a newer bios. My thoughts are that something might be causing a conflict due to a driver. When all else fails for me with these types of problems, I make sure I have the latest drivers, including the latest 1080GTX driver from Nvidia, Audio drivers, newer BIOS and any chipset drivers if there has been a change...worth checking.

I have to admit, I can't workout whats wrong especailly as the temps are more than fine, so it looks like a software issue.. Could be Windows update (the big creators/fall) that is now causing a problem with an older driver.

Fingers crossed someone else can pipe in and help.

I did try installing the new intel i7 driver however it said my pc was not ready for this, tried the other download and that also failed to run... My graphics card is up to date, i will try the new bios update, see how that works

btw it also jumps frames on the home screen with nothing running, the mouse when panning across jumps when it skips a frame
