Just got a new second hand PC which has 50GB C Drive and 1T D drive. Now I've downloaded a few games which went to my C drive and now it's full. I've no idea how to get it so my games and programs like Word download to my D Drive not my C drive.. I've looked online and thought I'd fixed it but clearly not.

I copied all the files and folders from C drive to D drive and then tried adding the extensions to D drive but nothing.

GRRRRRRRRRR

1. For any 'used PC', you really need to do a full wipe and reinstall. For your protection as well as theirs.

2. To move Steam games?
To move an already installed game
Games library
Right click the game
Properties
Local Files
Move Install Folder

3. Steam games location
In the steam client:
Steam
Settings
Downloads
Steam Library Folders
Add library folder

4. For other things and where they should go, read here:
Win 7 & 8: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1834397/ssd-redirecting-static-files.html
Win 8.1 & 10: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2024314/windows-redirecting-folders-drives.html

5. "50GB" is TooSmall for the OS drive. What type of drive is this

Games can be moved via programs like SteamMover, programs do not use much storage space at all so don't break them by dragging them over.
Also remember that items like movies on the desktop occupy space on the C drives so that might fill it up.
Steam can be set to install onto a different HDD etc so look into that!
Also you can move the C onto the larger D drive but that might be hard for you, there's plenty of walkthroughs however!

Whenever you install new application, choose "Custom" installation, in most cases you'll be able to redirect it to other folder, not C:\Program Files. Some files still will go to C: drive, though.

If I was you: I would borrow / buy an external drive with enough space to make backup of everything on D: drive, delete the volume, then extend C: drive to eg 150gb, then re-create D volume and put the stuff back.
