Hey thanks for taking time to read. New to the forums been lurking for quite a while.

So I started a new build the other day and have run into an issue; Initial Startup does nothing.

Here are the Specs:
ASrock Z370 Extreme 4
I7-8700k
Corsair Vengence LED DDR42666 (PC4 21300) CMU16GX4M2A2666C16
NVIDIA GTX 1050 TI FTW

So on startup there is no BIOS or display with either my video card or the on board video with the motherboard. I have no speaker on my Obsidian 700 case.

Issue 1: So in the book for the ASRock it says the 8 pin 12v ATX can use a 4 pin. The Xion Xon-1000p14f power supply I have has two 4 pin atx connectors. I have tried using the one on the pins side closest to the CPU (Pin 1 and 5) like it says in the book and using both 4 pin connectors together in the 12v ATX will not work due to the layout of the rounded tops and square pegs of the 4 pin being different. I do not have a speaker on the case to tell me of any post beeps

Issue 2: Now I dont see this as being the problem but I do have to mention it. On the ASrock website for the motherboard the Memory QVL does not list this memory on tested list, but the corsair is just slightly different than one on the list.

My Memory is: CMU16GX4M2A2666C16
Memory on QVL: CMU16GX4M2C3000C15

The only real differancs is the DDR266 and DDR3000.

I am thinking that the Power Supply is the issue if the CPU is not getting the required power. Startup does power up all the fans correctly and I can see all the lights on the Motherboard appear, but nothing else is working for startup.

I really think issue 2 is nothing and it is all power supply, thoughts?

Yeah they can go together but the left side of the pin is wrong. You know how some connectors on the block are square and some are rounded...ish.. The pins are opposite from the board, so using the 8 together is not possible.

Plus that power supply was the only one I had laying around with long enough cable to route them properly in the case.

I have already ordered an EVGA supernova 750 g2

So you would be fairly confident that this is a power supply issue and not the ram? If I am reading that right?

Admirable
I really doubt it's the RAM. You need that 8 pin ATX connector to the motherboard to be sure anyhow. True it might or might not start with only a four pin, but it's only guaranteed with the 8 pin connection, so it's a good place to look to.
