Building new PC with new HDD, want to transfer all data from old HDD to new. Will I need to re-install windows? If so how.

I am building a new PC and I want to transfer all of the data from my old drive to a new one. Make it feel like my old pc just with a new motherboard and better parts. How could I completely transfer all data to a new drive? Will I need to reinstall windows, or can I just transfer all my data to the new HDD, and stick it in the new PC?

Thanks :)

Best way is to install only new drive, install Windows on it, then connect your old drive and copy all the data from it to new drive. Obviously, you will need to install all programs again, but that way you are sure you won't get any strange system glitches due to old drivers.
