hi, I will build a new gaming pc for myself and I would like to keep an old monitor of mine (Acer x233h). Exept that is has hdmi, DVI and VGA port. The Graphics Card I choose is the GTX 1050 Windforce OC edition and I noticed that there was only a DVI and HDMI port on the GPU... So I was wondering if the monitor could still work without using the VGA port and only using The hdmi and DVI port connected to the monitor and GPU.

Solution

You don't plug them all in, you use HDMI or DVI not both at the same time.

Yeah there should be no problem with that. You may need change inputs on the monitor but thats no problem.

Only one connection is necessary - either dvi or hdmi. Not multiple connections simultaneously (unless you're connecting multiple monitors).
