This has now become a three day headache starting with a bad mobo. I replaced it with an ASUS P5N32-SLI REV. 1.02 with an intel Pentium D. The computer starts when its plugged in automatically without pressing the button it runs for 30 seconds then shuts off with no output to the display or beeps. Ive checked for wires behind the mobo, tried booting with one stick of ram, reseated the ram and cpu, made sure the power connectors are fully and firmly seated. I just cant figure out why this is happening. any suggestions will be appreciated.

Here is the list of Alll CPU that your current ASUS P5N32 support along with bios version required to run that particular CPU. Sound like you need to update your bios first.

The board came from alienware with the pentium D installed. I later found out that it was due to the heatsink not placing enough pressure onto the processor for heat transfer. The computer not boots and runs no problem with all 4 RAM sticks. However im having trouble installing my OS. Im trying to install ubuntu but when i click install i get two ACPI errors and the computer goes to the ubuntu desktop with the login screen. But i do not have a login for ubuntu
