So my SSD is pretty much filled up and I can't do a whole lot with it anymore. My hard drive on the other hand hardly gets any love because for whatever reason my downloads automatically go to my SSD I think. When I try to move everything from my SSD over to my HD it gives me errors and says that it can't do certain actions and its getting really annoying. Basically I ended up copying program files x86 over to my HD and then deleted it off my SSD. Big mistake. All my desktop items had to be re downloaded or located and its becoming a big hassle. All i want is my files on my SSD to be moved to My HD, and then I can decide which ones I want to move back if I want them to load up faster. Thanks, this is getting really tedious.

Solution

It should automatically recognize that the Downloads Library folder is pointing to the new location.

Check Chrome after making the folder change, it only takes a minute.
If it's not pointing to the right place, then change it.

Make 5 library folders on your HDD. Documents, Pictures, Videos, Music, Downloads.
Go into Windows Explorer and right-click on each of your Libraries. For example Documents.
Go to the bottom and click Properties, then the Location tab, then Move.
Select the new Documents folder on your HDD as the new location for your Documents library.
Then cut your Documents from the SSD:\Users\name\Documents folder and paste to the HDD folder.

Ok cool thanks, What about downloading in the future, will I have to change where the download location is on chrome or will it automatically do it?
