SSD Upgrade, PC Doesn't Wake from Sleep/Doesn't Shutdown fully

Hello,

I just purchased a Samsung 850 EVO SSD, installed it into my HP PC Desktop, and did a clean install of Windows 10, using the most recent image from Microsoft. I kept my old 1TB HD installed for data.

The drive works nice and fast but I have noticed is that if I put the computer into sleep mode, it will not wake up unless I remove the electricity from the computer! It also does not shut down fully, windows shuts down, but the PC doesn't actually turn off (i.e. there is a led light that changes color depending on its state, blue = on, orange = sleep, it stays on blue and the fans keep spinning).

Is there a fix or driver update for this SSD to correct this? I did not have this problem before with my PC. I looked on the Samsung site but could not find any drivers for this model.

My PC desktop model is a HP P7-1154 with SATA 3.0 support. I have 16GB ram. The motherboard is ASUS - AAHD3-HB (Hibiscus). Processor is AMD A6-3600. I have NOT installed Samsung software at all.

I have in BIOS SSD as first to boot. Please advise what I can do to use sleep mode? Or if it is recommended just to turn off? I would rather save electricity.

I think it is either an issue with the motherboard, SSD. I do not want to force a shutdown each time. It is really annoying!

try disabling fast startup

"Fast startup is a feature in Windows that helps your computer start faster. You can use the following steps to enable or disable fast startup."

Type Control Panel in the search box.
Click Control Panel.
Click Power Options.
Click Choose what the power buttons do.
Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
Scroll down to Shutdown settings and uncheck Turn on fast startup.
Click Save changes.

I tried disabling that and going to sleep and it still gets sticks. I then pulled the power and tried shutting down and it also gets stuck.

It looks like the computer doesn't fully shut down as the lights on the PC case stay on - so I suspect the computer doesn't wake from sleep or start up again because it thinks it is still on somehow.
