Hey everyone,

It's about time I actually made an account instead of lurking in the shadows. You guys have helped me many, many times!

Anyway - I have an outdated HP Pavilion Elite E9220Y desktop. I recently got a new curved Samsung monitor which only has an HDMI in, and a DisplayPort in. I use the HDMI port for my PS4, and I stupidly assumed that my PC had a displayport output on the GPU (yeah, right). I want to dedicate the HDMI in for the PS4, and the DisplayPort for the PC so i can switch back and forth at the click of the source button. So, options..

Option 1: I considered finally building another gaming PC (it's been a while), but I don't think I'm ready to drop the cash on a full build at this time. So that option is almost definitely out.

Option 2: Upgrade this old dog. I mainly console game, but I do have a few low-demanding games I occasionally play (borderlands, mechanic simulator, some half-life expansions) and I pretty much get 20FPS running borderlands on low. Pathetic, I know. So, not only would I like to upgrade my GPU to something with a DisplayPort, but I wouldn't mind upgrading it to be able to play a few more games more efficiently. I'm not about to try and achieve playing Battlefield 1 at 60FPS, but nearly every time I go on "Can I Run It?" my GPU is my downfall.

The Phenom II Quad Core 2.6 gHz may be cutting it close, but maybe it'll be enough if I keep everything closed while gaming.

It has one PCI Express x16 Gen 2.0 slot, so I have that going for me I guess, lol.

I opened up the case, and my only immediate concern would be space for the GPU. The current card looks quite close to the RAM slots, but I may get lucky. I snapped a couple pics (yes, I need to dust!)

So what do you guys think? Am I living too far in the past here?!
Thank you very much!
