Is my gaming pc build any good?

Solution

As someone who is familiar with some mainstream PC components I look to the CPU first. If that passes inspection I then move down the line. I ran into the 1400 and stopped. That's a mid-range CPU. It's not the 16 or 1700. 1080 maxed with the 1400 is not something I see working out too well.

You then add the entry level 1050Ti. 1030 is bottom end. 1050 2 GB is very low end. That component doesn't say max settings either.

My answer is a resounding and possibly echoing No.

The CPU comes with its own cooler. No need for that aftermarket.

An SSD at this price point is a waste. Sure it'll speed up Windows boot, Windows navigation, game load times and offers some other benefits but higher FPS is certainly not one of them. When there is a tight budget each dollar needs to bring something for the FPS. If it doesn't it's not worth including in the build.

For about $25 more you can significantly upgrade that build PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

That Ti is like a shot in the foot. This football player can exercise but we will do nothing for his vision. Nope...

other games i wanna run is gta 5 on very high , fortnite on high settings and pubg on medium

Yes, That combo has been benchmarked at about 72 FPS on MAX settings @ 1080p in Overwatch.

GTA 5 on very high? 45 FPS with that build

That video card is a limiting factor but I'd go bigger on the CPU and less on the RAM...

This would be a faster build.

you can definitely hit 60 fps but maybe not on the very high default but if you lower some settings you it'll still look just as good and fortnite wont be a problem

is there a real need for the 16gb of ram or will i be good with just 8 and it will save me some cash

Hard to say for future. But as of now you can still survive with 8gb, you just have to close all background applications for max performance when playing games that demand a lot of ram.

you can easily get by with just the 8gb at the moment maybe something to consider at a later date tho

ok a few more questions if you are willing to awnser them for me
1) Can it run most games on high settings at 50-60 fps
2) Would it be able to handle some streaming on games such as overwatch
3) for streaming is the 16 gb of ram needed or could i get by with 8 (to save some cash)

It can do all those.
As for ram, i'd recommend getting 16gb if you can afford it.

Get this save $200-250. When Volta releases swap that 1050Ti with a decent GTX 1160/2060. You will get huge performance gain.

what is volta

Nvidias next architecture after Pascal.
The Volta gaming cards won't likely be out until next summer.

but they will cost 3000 dollars if i read this correctly so i wont ever be able to afford this?

It's the Titan V that costs $3k. Gaming variants will be cheaper. By how much, it's hard to say but Nvidia will likely use their growing gaming card monopoly to price gouge the hell out of them.
