Disk Drive making weird noise

Hi, my disk Drive is making this weird loud pitched noise, and then a click, and I’m not sure the problem, when this happens my computer just freezes until the noise stops, but sometimes it doesn’t stop and goes forever. Or some times it stops for a few seconds/minutes then happens again..

Failing drive. Or possibly a power supply problem that will affect the drive's operation and reliability.

What make and model disk drive? Size, age...?

Backup anything important to another drive and verify that the backed up data is readable.

However, under such circumstances anything you do may cause data loss.

After ensuring that your data is safe and accessible try running the manufacturer's diagnostic software on the noisy drive.
