Color screen suddenly switched to black & white

My Lenovo laptop switched from color to black & white. The Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics seems to be working fine and all drivers are up-to-date. I have tried suggestions made elsewhere. Please help.

An update: based on some other postings and the fact that the hardware was working fine and the drivers were updates, I must have toggled something my mistake: it was simple pressing CTRL + START + C bought the color back instantly.
