Hello.
I just bought an old . Corsair A70 cooler for $15. It works well but not good as my expectation.
I'm using Core i7 6700k and the room temp is 15*C.
- at stock clock the temp is up to 70*C while run Prime95 smallFFT.
- at 4.5GHz and 1.32V Vcore the temp is up to 85*C.
I don't think that is a good result for a cooler like the A70. The 65*C of temperature different at stock clock is not good at all.
I tried to reinstall the cooler and then I realized that 4 heatpipes didn't contact completely with the CPU because the heatpipes is too big. It has 4x8mm direct contact heatpipes.Only 2.5 of them are contact with the CPU. The others is out of the cpu heat spreader. I think that is the reason of bad cooling result.
So, are there any solution for that problem? Can I insert a copper plate on top of cpu to fit with the cooler or something like that?
